Meet Anouk
Born in the Netherlands, I have always been drawn to creativity and design. My early career was rooted in fashion and interior design, where I honed an eye for form, texture, and minimalism. Nature has always been my grounding force, and my love for earthy tones and raw materials runs through all my work.
After a life-altering surgery, I turned to painting as both expression and renewal. Working primarily in mixed media, I use the palette knife to build layered, textural surfaces that embrace imperfection and movement. My style is minimalistic yet visceral—rooted in the natural world, but abstract in form. Each painting reflects a process of balance: between strength and fragility, control and spontaneity.
I often incorporate unconventional materials—concrete, leaves, horse hair, wood, or fabric—bringing depth, memory, and rawness into the surface of my work.
From my studio in Virginia, I continue to explore this dialogue between process and emotion—where art becomes both healing and discovery.
